Job Description

The Business Analyst will report to Sr. Manager - Corporate Systems and will be part of the team that is responsible for Application portfolio management and application development and focuses on building and configuring quality and stable software solutions leveraging Oracle EBS suite and Hyperion product. This entails:  (1) strategizing, roadmap planning, selecting, architecting/designing, building and implementing technology solutions to solve complex business problems.(2) portfolio management for entire business applications suite (3) actively managing the on-going health and supportability of the portfolio in alignment with IT Ops & Support, (4) managing the cost, contracts, and licensing associated with the portfolio, (5) partnering with other IT and business teams to deliver end to end technology solutions for JCPenney. The team provides IT solutions to JCP corporate finance, accounting, procurement and back office shared services business clients.

 

Critical Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead analysis, requirement gathering, use case creation, scope management, process improvement, test case creation for medium to large size projects/programs through all phases of the SDLC.
  • Expert and point-of-contact in core business capabilities, processes, and applications for the Finance, Accounting and procurement portfolio.
  • Drive portfolio ownership by working with users to understand strategies and operations in order to develop technology capability roadmaps that are aligned with business/domain roadmaps.
  • Demonstrates breadth and depth of techniques and tools for one or many of the following: use case modeling, data modeling, E2E business process modeling, process mapping, E2E business scenarios.
  • Provides mentorship and coaching to junior staff.
  • Work with geographically diverse locations

Critical Skills & Experiences:

  • Experience - 5 to 8 years
  • Experience implementing and configuring some combination of Oracle Financials modules including: General Ledger (GL), Sub-ledger Accounting (SLA), Accounts Payables (AP), Projects, Procurement (PO, iProc) and Sourcing in EBS R12 (12.1.3 and later preferred).
  • Ability to write SQL queries
  • Understanding of EBS touch points for AP module to support tax calculations from external software.
  • Knowledge of AME
  • Capacity to develop and deliver end-user training
  • Must have experience in business process mapping, fit-gap analysis, finance business process re-engineering
  • Ability to understand end to end business processes and support business teams on the process
  • Oracle Implementation (AIM) methodology expertise in addition to waterfall, iterative and  Agile
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
